Popis: | Normal human pregnancy is characterized by substantial changes in peripheral glucose utilization as well as homeostatic alterations in insulin release and response mechanisms. Recent observations we have made indicate a relative deficiency in plasma chromium in pregnancy and the puerperium. The possibility is suggested that changes in chromium physiology may relate to the so-called ‘diabetogenic’ features of pregnancy. |
