Popis:	A 90-year-old man was admitted after a house fire. Physical examination revealed burns and soot all over his face. Laboratory tests showed blood pH 7.2 and carboxyhemoglobin 23.4% (reference interval 0–1.5%), consistent with smoke inhalation.
