Popis: One of the states that Ottoman Empire, whose presence became apparent in the Balkans from the second half of the 14th century, was in contact with was Genoese. The political relationship was started in 1352 for the first time and the relationship commercial and economic areas developed as well over time. Chios, one of the important centers of Eagan islands, was one of these developments areas. Chios, under the rule of Genoese from 1346 to 1566, where trade foremost and bilateral relationship intensified was an important center for settlement. Especially, after its capture by Genoese, commercial traffic from the island became very active. There was an intense commercial activity between Chios and places like Edirne, Galata, Selanik, Serez, etc which were captured by Ottoman in early era
