Popis: | The article highlights the military and tourism potential and directions of its use in relation to the Kamianets period of the UPR Directorate or Directory (1919-1920), when city of Kamianets-Podilskyi served as the capital of Soborna (United) Ukraine. The Directory and the Head of the Directory, Chief Ataman Simon Petliura, the government and ministries of the UPR, the General Staff of the Active Army of the UPR, WUPR government headed by the dictator E. Petrushevych, the Initial Team of the Ukrainian Galician Army worked in the city. The University and the theatre were situated there; 16 newspapers were printed; the Directory’s laws, resolutions and appeals, as well as army orders, were adopted etc. Thus, an important period of the Ukrainian national liberation struggle and the creation of the statehood of Ukraine, as well as its armed forces, is connected with the Kamianets era of the Directory of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. However, the existing military and tourism potential associated with the capital status of Kamianets-Podilskyi in 1919–1920 is still underused. The article substantiates the possibility and expediency of wide and sustainable use of the historical heritage of Kamianets-Podilskyi during the UPR as a tourist resource. |
