Popis: | Hyperthermia induced by microwaves, radiofrequencies, and ultrasonics is now entering a phase of intense clinical investigation for evaluation of its potential as a therapeutic modality for cancer therapy. The multidisciplinary nature of these clinical studies and the absolute requirement for utilizing complex, high-technology medical devices have generated a number of unique clinical systems engineering problems. We attempt in this article to identify these problems and to offer, by example, paradigms through which specific solutions may be obtained. |
