Popis: | Overcoming the health problems of the modern world depends heavily on changing the behaviors of persons and groups. This paper presents the field experiences of a health educator and behavioral scientist as they worked to make a malaria eradication program acceptable to a tribal people. The approach to diagnosis of the problem of non-cooperation and the initial steps and subsequent redirection of a remedial program are described. An interpretive summary ·brings into focus the anthropological, sociological, and psychological principles found to be important in this cross-cultural health promotion project. |
