Popis: | To perform multinuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging, a coil with a high signal-to-noise ratio and spatially uniform B1 field that covers the same volume of interest at several frequencies is preferred. The design of a surface coil that reduces contaminating signals from the surface-lying tissues and improves uniformity of the B1 field within the same preselected volume for both31P and 1H is described. Testing of the coil demonstrated acquisition of proton images and 31P spectra from a selected voxel in rat liver at 7 T. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
