Popis: | Anodic oxidation is one of the popular surface treatment methods to improve biocompatibilities of titanium. Recently, new methods like micro-arc oxidation in an electrolyte containing calcium cation have been proposed. Fine structures and distribution of elements in these films have not been fully comprehended. The purpose is to clarify the microstructure and distribution of the elements using TEM observations and STEM-EDX mapping of electrochemical surface treated Ti-6Al-7Nb alloy. By micro arc oxidation applying 500 V for 5 min, an oxide film less than 10 μm in thickness was formed from an electrolyte with 150 mM calcium acetate, and the surface film was composed of fine crystalline titanium oxide and amorphous calcium oxide. From an electrolyte with 150 mM calcium glycerophosphate, the surface film was almost amorphous with phosphate anion, and revealed a tendency of phase separation between titanium and calcium cations. |
