Popis: Prevention of congenital malformations is recognized as the ultimate goal of teratology, a goal that has not yet been reached despite much progress in the description, experimental production, and treatment of birth defects. In addition to quests for the causes of congenital malformations and the removal of these causes, indirect preventive methods must be sought that could aid in eliminating these malformations as sources of children's morbidity and mortality.
