Popis: | A defect in urinary concentrating ability has been produced in the normal hydropenic dog by means of acute ureteral obstruction. This defect is unassociated with changes in urinary solute excretion, and appears to be independent of alterations in glomerular filtration rate. Detailed study of this phenomenon indicates that some functional change in the distal tubular system, related to the ability to concentrate the urine maximally, is produced in the obstructed kidney. The precise nature of this change remains undetermined. |
