Popis:	WE wish to report the findings of a research project that investigated resistance of parasitic gastroenteric nematodes to macrocyclic lactones (MLs) in lambs in the Herefordshire and Powys area. Anthelmintic resistance is a well-recognised and increasing threat to the future production and welfare of grazing sheep. Studies in the UK indicate that resistance to the benzimidazole group of anthelmintics can be detected on nearly 100 per cent of lowland farms and 83 per cent of upland/hill farms. Levamisole resistance has been detected on 47 per cent of lowland farms and 17 per cent of upland/hill farms, all of which were also resistant to benzimidazoles (Abbot and others 2009).
