| Popis: | This chapter presents the main features of depth profile analysis for silver coins using LA-ICP-MS. The first section contains general information about ancient silver coins and their characteristics. Next, we discuss the implications of these characteristics for the analysis of these objects, followed by a presentation of the possibilities and limitations of the analytical methods used to date. The next section deals with previous attempts to analyze depth-heterogeneous materials using depth profile LA-ICP-MS analysis (DP-LA-ICP-MS). Finally, we present some aspects of the development and validation of LA-ICP-MS for the analysis of ancient silver coins. |
