Popis: | Methyl 2-cyanoacrylate-2-14C, -3-14C and -14CN tagged monomers were im planted subcutaneously in mongrel dogs and their urine assayed for radioactivity. The results show that the urea from the -3-14C was radioactive and radioactive acidic components, as well as neutral moieties, were present. Urea recovered from the urine of animals in which the -2-14C and -14CN methyl 2-cyanoacrylate were implanted was only very slightly radioactive. The data are consistent with the hypothesis that hydrolytic chain scission and ester hydrolysis may be involved in the degradation of 2-cyanoacrylates in vivo. |
