Popis: | Summary P wave alterations were studied in forty-three hypertensive patients who had decreases in QRS voltage during therapeutic blood pressure reduction. Frontal P vector direction changed with mean blood pressure during treatment. A low pre-treatment pressure fell, on the average, to a still lower level with an associated P vector movement rightwards. A high pretreatment pressure fell to a level still relatively high, with an associated leftward P vector movement. Electrocardiographic evidence of left atrial disease may occur during treatment of hypertension despite some improvement in QRS voltage if initial and post-treatment blood pressure are relatively high. |
