The article presents a methodology for calculating the energy balance and evaluating the effectiveness of the hydraulic power steering (GRU) of a car at the design stage. The method includes calculations of: pressure loss of the working fluid, heat release in the GRU, temperature of the working fluid in the GRU and efficiency of the GRU. The article presents the dependence of the amount of heat released in the GRU on the frequency of rotation of the engine crankshaft and the moment of resistance to the rotation of the steered wheels when the vehicle is moving on sand. This dependence was obtained for the first time. In addition, based on the theory of similarity, for the first time, the ratio between the ideal and operational heat flows in the GRU was taken as an indicator of efficiency, and the range of GRU efficiency was obtained. |
