Popis:	Several additional examples of cascade cyclizations of α,β-unsaturated thioesters proceeding are reported, which proceed via two distinct mechanistic pathways: enantioselective acyl transfer promoted by amidine-based catalysts (ABCs) and a racemic chain mechanism mediated by a thiolate nucleophile.
