Popis: The carbon framework of des-hydroxy paecilospirone was rapidly synthesized using a biomimetic approach whereby an enol ether and an ortho-quinone methide (o-QM), each derived from the same lactone, were combined to arrive at the complete carbon skeleton of paecilospirone.
