Popis: | Solid “GaI” reacts with NaCp to give (η5-cyclopentadienyl)gallium (GaCp). Further reaction of a solution of GaCp with [Cr(CO)5(coe)] (coe = cyclooctene) or Co2(CO)8 leads to CpGa–Cr(CO)5 (1) or (thf)GaCp{Co(CO)4}2 (4), respectively, which shows that GaCp can be used as a terminal ligand in coordination chemistry, but unlike its bulkier analogue GaCp* (Cp* = C5Me5), it also acts as a reducing agent. |
