Popis:	The development of neuroimaging has been a major breakthrough in the treatment of patients suffering from tumors of the central nervous system. From the late 19th century until today neuroimaging underwent an amazing development. The imaging modalities of the central nervous system available to a physician today are many and can provide a considerable amount of information about its anatomy, physiology, and function. Recent advances in computational power and software sophistication have made this information readily available for treatment planning, guidance, and follow-up. The use of these techniques has dramatically decreased the complication rates in neurooncology over the past few decades.
