| Popis: | Summary Identical twins with sporadic cretinism with goiter are presented. These children at first were erroneously thought to have cystic hygromas of the neck. They have responded well to treatment with desiccated thyroid extract, and their neck masses have disappeared completely. Although rare, sporadic goitrous cretinism does occur and should be included in the differential diagnosis of neck masses in infancy and childhood so that appropriate studies may be obtained, diagnosis made, and treatment instituted early. |
