| Popis: | Ornithophila vagans Rondani, 1879 ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1879: 21. TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle ditionis parmensis [Parmese hill (Italy)]”. TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (MZUF: Box 66): Ornithophila Rnd. / vagans Rnd. / 3405 / holotype Ornithophila vagans Rndn., ♂, T.C. Maa, [19]62. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Ornithophila metallica (Schiner, 1864) (Soós & Hůrka 1986: 217). REMARKS: Rondani (1879: 21) described Ornithophila vagans from a single specimen without specifying its sex: “ Unicum exemplar legi [I collected a single specimen]”.
