Band Effect and Heat Bath Effect on the Electron Transfer Processes on Solid Surface

Popis: The resonant electron transfer between a moving external particle and solid surface is theoretically discussed with use of the time-dependent Newns model. In particular, the effect of the finite band width on the electron transfer rate is clarified in detail. Van Hove singularity of the density of states of the surface bands triggers oscillatory behavior of the electron transfer rates. With the increase of the band width the Stuckelberg oscillation and the electron survival probability in the two-way passage process are remarkably reduced
