Popis: | Trimethyllysine hydroxylase (TMLH) is an Fe(II) and 2-oxoglutarate (2OG) dependent oxygenase involved in the biomedically important carnitine biosynthesis pathway. A combination of synthetic and NMR studies provides direct evidence that human TMLH catalyzes the stereoselective conversion of (2S)-Ne-trimethyllysine to (2S,3S)-3-hydroxy-Ne-trimethyllysine. |
