Popis: The behaviour of a flexible pile in dense sand under horizontal dynamic and cyclic loading has been investigated using reduced scale models in the centrifuge. Results from two kinds of loading are presented and compared. The P-y loop can be characterized by two parrameters : the energy loss and the secant modulus. Evaluating these two parameters is of fundamental importance in the reaction modulus approach of the dynamic soil pile interaction. This paper presents an estimation of these parameters from experimental data, comparing and discussing results for both schemes of loading and at different depths above the rotation point. Analysis on maximum displacement and maximum bending moments along depth are also presented.
