Popis: | The physical development of 53 patients with cystic fibrosis was evaluated for weight, weight velocity, height, height velocity and skeletal age taking into account European standards according to Tanner et al. While parameters of weight correlate with the severity of disease, only an insignificant relationship could be demonstrated for height and skeletal age. Inadequate caloric uptake is thought to be the determinating factor, while pulmonary involvement influences the physical development only in the late stage of the disease. |
