Popis: | Utilizing bone scaffolds for osteogenic factors delivery has the vital advantage of faster and more efficient tissue regeneration. In this study, rosuvastatin calcium is loaded into the silicon nanoparticles and then incorporated into PLLA nanofibers followed by immersion into the gelatin hydrogel. The fabricated composites are characterized, and a drug release study shows that the nanofibers are the main barrier to drug release and provide sustained release for 21 days. Double encapsulation in the genipin-crosslinked gelatin hydrogel prolonged release to 32 days. The scaffold material shows great potential to provide a sustainable osteogenic factor delivery system.
