Popis: This work is part of a systematic evaluation of the unsteady shock-fitting algorithm developed by some of the authors and their co-workers. The objective of the study is to evaluate the impact on the fitted solution of the nature of the discretization method used. In particular, the study considers genuinely multidimensional upwind methods, as well as centred dicretizations with stabilizing terms, and both linear first and second order, and nonlinear high resolution schemes. The methods used belong to the family of Residual Distribution schemes. One- and two-dimensional numerical examples are considered to evaluate the behaviour of the fitted solution both quantitatively and qualitatively.
