| Popis: | 1. 1. Four new cases of acute diverticulitis of the ascending colon are added to the literature. 2. 2. The signs and symptoms of this disease are similar to those of acute appendicitis. 3. 3. Optimum treatment consists of inversion or simple resection; however, because of the difficulty in differentiation from a neoplastic lesion of the right colon, a right colectomy is frequently necessary. 4. 4. The importance of searching for diverticulitis of the right colon in the presence of a normal appendix when preoperative diagnosis has been acute appendicitis is again emphasized. |
