Popis: | Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) helps the surgeon by yielding a precise road map of the biliary tree and pancreatic duct prior to abdominal surgery. Recently, the use of the Seldinger technique, adapted directly from vascular radiology, has helped to surmount problems in the therapeutic use of ERCP. Endoscopic drains or stents can be used to relieve infection and jaundice or obstructive pancreatitis prior to operation. |
