Popis: | The outcome of coronary artery bypass grafting procedures is highly dependent on the technical adequacy of the distal anastomosis. Various methodologies, including flow measurement and imaging techniques, have been used by the cardiothoracic surgeon to assess the adequacy of the distal anastomosis. The limitations of these techniques outweigh their advantages and limit their widespread clinical applicability. Recent improvements in the technique for online measurement of regional myocardial pH provide a promising new metabolic approach to assessing the adequacy of the distal anastomosis in cardiac surgery. |
