Sexual health promotion is a teaching opportunity for nursing students.ObjectiveNursing students aimed to improve sexual health literacy among people with intellectual disabilities through educational seminars.ResultsGender-matched group education conducted for people with intellectual disabilities in their home setting enhanced sexual health literacy.Discussion/ConclusionsPeople with intellectual disabilities are at risk for sexual abuse and may possess insufficient information compared to their peers without disabilities. Sexual health promotion education for people with intellectual disabilities should occur on a regular basis. |
