This article-describes the results of a conjoint effort to develop self-instructional audiovisual material dealing with differential diagnosis of oral soft tissue pathosis. A project team comprised of oral pathologists and education, computer science, and media specialists, combined efforts to analyse the problems and purposes of teaching differential diagnosis. As a result of this team approach, a multimedia instructional package has been developed which the authors think will provide the dental student or practitioner with a logical, systematic approach to differential diagnosis which will help the dentist to be a better diagnostician. Utilization of the classifications developed in this project would promote better communication among various health practitioners, thereby providing better health care service for the patient. |
