Popis: After a long absence from Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern (popularly known as Dramaten), Ingmar Bergman returned with a spectacular version of King Lear that won the praise of critics and audiences alike. Not only has Bergman's Lear remained in repertory, playing to full houses ever since it opened in March; it has also been selected to tour with the company in Europe during Spring 1985, opening at the Odeon Theatre de L'Europe in Paris. With the prerogative of genius, Bergman succeeded in mounting a production that was truly original in both senses of the word-essentially Shakespearean yet uniquely Bergmanesque.
