Popis: | Our purpose is to outline the five-year end-results of an unselected series of 98 cases of squamous-cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix treated in the period 1935–41, inclusive. Mention will also be made of the various technics employed down to the present writing. Cases which were treated prior to 1935 are not included, as there is no accurate means of determining the precise dosage. The 98 cases reported are unse1ected and comprise the usual cases seen in the radiological department of a civilian genera1 hospital located in a large city. They represent all walks of life, being about equally divided between charity and private patients The follow-up is 76.5 per cent of all cases, that is, 75 cases were followed from the beginning of radiation therapy for at least five years or until death. It should be noted that the relatively low percentage of follow-up probably stems directly from the war-time social upheaval of the period 1941–46.
