A RESEARCH ON CONSUMER BEHAVIOR AND TRENDS WITH COVID-19

Popis: Individuals may encounter some difficulties in certain periods. Such difficulties may be related to economic, political, cultural, public health, etc. It is a fact that every difficulty encountered will have some effects on society or individuals. These effects are likely to result in changes in individuals' behavior. This research aims to investigate the impact of COVID-19, which has a global impact, and the epidemic announced with it on the purchasing behavior and tendencies of consumers. Two months after the announcement of the pandemic, the demographic data of the participants, their awareness levels of the virus, their intention to participate in social life, their basic needs and their purchasing behaviours and tendencies towards tourism services were collected. This research is descriptive research designed as a quantitative research type. With this study, in which 976 questionnaires were taken into consideration, it was aimed to understand what kind of purchasing behavior and tendency consumers would show under the prohibitions, restrictions and rules (social distance-mask-hygiene) imposed by the pandemic. The questionnaire, which was finalized after the pilot study, was delivered to the participants between 1 and 15 May 2020 and data were collected. The data was analyzed using the SPSS program. T-test and ANOVA were used to test the differences between expressions within the scope of the research. The results indicate that technology-based online purchasing habits will increase in shopping malls and supermarket purchasing behaviors and trends, there will be restrictions in purchasing behavior tendencies towards tourism and recreation areas, a more rigorous life will be lived in the daily routine life cycle, economically the more thrifty and conscious attitude is towards the tendency. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] Bireyler, belirli donemlerde birtakim zorluklarla karsilasabilirler. Bu tur zorluklar ekonomik, politik, kulturel, toplum sagligi gibi durumlar ile ilgili olabilir. Karsilasilan her zorlugun toplumun veya bireylerin uzerinde birtakim etkileri olacagi bir gercektir. Bu etkilerin bireylerin davranislarinda degisiklikler ile sonuclanmasi muhtemeldir. Bu arastirma, kuresel capta etki yaratan COVID-19'un ve beraberinde ilan edilen salginin tuketicilerin satin alma davranislari ve egilimleri uzerindeki etkisini arastirmayi amaclamaktadir. Pandemi ilan edilmesinden iki ay sonra, Mayis ayinda yapilan cevrimici anket ile katilimcilarin demografik verileri, viruse karsi farkindalik duzeyleri, sosyal yasama katilim niyetleri ile temel ihtiyaclarina ve turizm hizmetlerine yonelik satin alma davranislari ve egilimlerini iceren veriler toplanmistir. Bu arastirma, nicel arastirma turu olarak tasarlanmis, tanimlayici arastirmadir. 976 anket formunun degerlendirmeye alindigi bu calisma ile pandemi nedeniyle zorunlu kilinan yasaklar, kisitlamalar ve kurallar (sosyal mesafe-maske-hijyen) altinda tuketicilerin nasil bir satin alma davranisi ve egilimi gosterecegi anlasilmak istenmistir. Pilot calismanin ardindan son halini alan anket 1 ila 15 Mayis 2020 tarihleri arasinda katilimcilara ulastirilarak veriler toplanmistir. Arastirma kapsaminda ifadeler arasindaki farkliliklari test etmek icin t-testi ve ANOVA kullanilmistir. Elde edilen sonuclar, Alisveris Merkezi (AVM) ve markete yonelik satin alma davranis ve egilimlerinde teknolojik temelli cevrimici satin alma aliskanliklarinin artacagi, turizm ve rekreasyon alanlarina yonelik satin alma davranis egilimlerinde kisitlamaya gidilecegi, gunluk rutin yasam dongusu icerisinde daha titiz bir yasam surulecegi, ekonomik olarak daha tutumlu ve bilincli tutum egilim sergilenecegine yoneliktir.
