Popis: Satisfactory mother-infant adjustment often hinges on the first feeding experiences. An infant may have difficulty feeding, may not enjoy being cuddled, and may be difficult to comfort. The mother who understands the reasons, which are often infant-related, can learn to adapt to the special needs of her infant without feeling the problem lies with her. The author reports on some of her own experiences with normal and abnormal infants and makes suggestions to the nurse who assists the new mother in learning early mothering skills.
