Popis: | Measurements of the binding of 125 I human transferrin to single cell preparations from mouse tissues indicated that the average number of transferrin receptors per cell was about 10 5 for RILQ lymphoma cells, ∼ 5 × 10 4 for the spleen population, 3 for cells from the thymus, and 6 × 10 4 for mouse reticulocytes. In addition a competitive binding assays was used to estimate, relative to mouse plasma as a standard, the amounts of transferrin in supernatants separated from the first-stage cell suspensions. These measurements indicated that the transferrin contents per g tissue were ∼ 550 μg for tumor, ∼ 300 μg for spleen and thymus. |
