Popis: | 1. Swine surviving inoculation with partially attenuated ASFV and subsequent inoculation with virulent challenge virus formed no demonstrable neutralizing antibody. 2. Inoculation of non-natural hosts to which ASFV is a foreign antigen, likewise, produced no demonstrable neutralizing antibody. Subsequent inoculation, however, of natural and non-natural hosts with FMDV resulted in formation of neutralizing antibody against this virus. 3. The absence of demonstrable neutralizing antibody in swine surviving challenge inoculation suggests that viral interference or development of tolerance was responsible for their refractory state. |
