According to WHO, population aging and the number of people with underlying conditions are incredibly increasing thus requiring that their health conditions are monitored frequently. The current manual systems which require the physical interaction to measure parameters such as (heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, body temperature, etc.) manually are not adequate anymore. This paper presents a prototype design of a multi-parameter monitoring system that remotely monitors and sends real-time data of the vital signs of patients, the proposed system consists of wearable sensors that measure heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure body temperate and ECG of patients; all controlled by Arduino UNO microcontroller, a wireless module (Node MCU) was used to transmit measured data to a cloud database. Doctors and nurses receive real time reports on patient’s vital signs while alert notifications and SMS messages are automatically sent to them in case the patient is exposed to severe health condition. the system was testing in Somali Sudanese hospital and results were encouraging and applauded by the doctors on duty. |
