Popis:	This article explored the relationship between social investment and volume of freight carried by water transport in Vietnam during the period 2002 Q4 to 2022 Q2. Using a VAR approach we capture their relationship. The findings suggest an overall, substantial investment has the potential to promote Volume of freight in Vietnam. We recommend more investments towards water transport infrastructure to ensure a significant increase in trade, and to enhance Vietnam's trade competitiveness.
