Popis: | Philadelphia chromosome and surface IgM were studied at the individual cell level in blood lymphocytes from 18 patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia using an assay that combines surface immunofluorescence and Q-banding. After stimulation by polyclonal B cell activators, clear-cut results were obtained in eight cases, the technical failures in the other patients being predominantly due to the absence of B lymphocyte mitoses. The great majority of B cell mitoses that were analyzable in the chromosomal study contained the Ph 1 marker. |
