Popis: | The specific activities of nucleoside deaminase (cytidine aminohydrolase, EC 3.5.4.5) and adenosine deaminase (adenosine aminohydrolase, EC 3.5.4.4) were determined in extracts of mouse liver following 70 % hepatectomy. There was an increase in the levels of these enzymes which preceded the onset of DNA synthesis by many hours. Enzyme levels remained elevated during the period of rapid DNA synthesis and for more than a week after the cessation of DNA synthesis. It is suggested that the increases in nucleoside deaminase and adenosine deaminase may be related to altered RNA metabolism in regenerating liver. |
