Analysis of the tectonic activities along the central part of the north anatolian fault zone using GNSS measurements

Popis: | North Anatolian Fault Zone (NAFZ) is one of the most wide strike-slip faults in the world. It starts from the north of the Eagan Sea, namely Saros Gulf and extends to the east of Turkey, namely Karlıova, Bingöl. Various scientific studies based on GNSS and different techniques have been conducted on NAFZ. At the region, where is located at the center of NAFZ, several provinces, particularly Tokat and Amasya, and then some parts of Çorum, Ordu and Samsun, are the areas where tectonic activities occur significantly. Since the earthquakes happened between 1900 and 2021 have been considered, it can be seen that intense tectonic activities on the region have occurred. The aim of this study is to model the existing tectonic structure of the region with analysis based on GNSS observations. In this context, the study area to be subjected to the study is situated between latitudes of 39 and 41.5 degrees N and longitudes of 34 and 39 degreesE as including the wholes of Tokat and Amasya, some parts of Çorum, Ordu and Samsun. In order to prove the tectonic structure of the region, an optimum network including 32 stations, which the stations are the current stations involved in Turkish National Fundamental GPS Network (TUTGA) and CORS-TR network was designed in the study area. The data between 2009 and 2021 have been examined. The data evaluations and analysis of GNSS observations will be performed by Bernese v5.2 software.
