Popis: | In experiments with the local injection of hydrocortisone, 1 it is sometimes necessary to inject the suspension of hydrocortisone against marked resistance in tissue. We had used the Hypospray Jet Injection Apparatus 2 for such purposes. When this instrument is not available and in those areas where this jet injection is not feasible, we have employed a cartridge type of syringe. For the past few years at the suggestion of the dentists, we have used the cartridge type of syringe for local anesthesia in the skin. This type of syringe has also been recommended for use in dermatology by Sulzberger and Baer. 3 We agree that it is a very useful syringe for office practice. Under sterile conditions, suspensions of hydrocortisone of the commercial type have been put into the special glass cartridge, which is capped and used in the cartridge type syringe.
