Popis: A high volume cascade sieve impactor was designed and developed to be used in collecting large amounts of respirable airborne particles. The sampler which operates at 50 cfm and collects particles on glass fiber media was calibrated with four mono-dispersed aerosols produced with a spinning disk aerosol generator. The amount of each aerosol collected on the five stages was measured and these data were plotted to form the calibration curves. From these curves the 50% effective cut-off diameter (ECD) and the geometric standard deviations were determined. The 50% ECD's were 0.3, 0.6, 1.7, 3.2, and 6.0 microns for stages five thru one, respectively.
