Popis:	The purpose of this study was to investigate with high resolution autoradiography, the biosynthesis and intracellular transport of melanin within the mammalian pigment cell. The site of melanin synthesis within the pigment cell has been a topic of controversy for many years (1), and many diverse cell areas and organelles have been proposed as likely candidates (2-9). Despite much work the problem remains unsettled.
