Popis: | When adult boll weevils, Anthonomus grandis (Boheman) ; tobacco bud worms, Heliothis virescens (F.); brown dog ticks, Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille); alfalfa weevils, Hypera postica (Gyllenhal); Japanese beetles, popillia japonica Newman; European chafers, Amphimalton majalis (Razoumowsky); house crickets, Acheta domesticus (L.); bruchids, Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boheman); and vinegar flies, Drosophila melanogaster Meigen, were exposed to several promising micronized insecticidal dusts and insecticidal aerosols in tractor trailers, freight cars, and aircraft, excellent initial kills were obtained with Mobam® (benzo[b]thien-4-yl methyl-carbamate), resmethrin, chlorpyrifos, and propoxur used alone and in combination. The residual effect varied somewhat depending on the species tested. The 2 most promising aerosols were concentrated preparations of resmethrin and d-trans allethrin. |
