Popis: | SummaryCatecholamine levels were determined in tissues obtained from dogs subjected to prolonged oligemic hypotension. The lung and liver were found to have retained their normal complement of catecholamines while the cerebral hemisphere, spleen and heart were depleted. In the brain the depletion appeared to be a terminal phenomenon, possibly associated with the respiratory difficulties experienced by the animal at that time. In the spleen the depletion seemed to take place progressively throughout the experimental period. An attempt is made to reconcile these data with known metabolic and functional parameters of the organs studied. |
