Popis:	Effects of globalization have become significantly apparent in every aspect. Along with globalization, the need for accounting education is being triggered by the development of financial markets and the elimination of barriers to trade. This study explains how some aspects of globalization affect higher education and accounting education in Turkey. Moreover, the aim of this study is to examine the effects of globalization on higher and accounting education by using focus group technique in order to perform a SWOT analysis to create strong sides, weak sides, opportunities, and threats. Ten accounting and finance instructors are brought together from one state and two foundation universities in Istanbul to discuss on the subject, and as a result, eight strong, five weak, five opportunity and four threat items emerged.
