Popis: | Summary Two young calves suffering from an acute illness were presented at the Veterinary Faculty. One had nervous signs, the other had colic. Both calves died within one day. At autopsy, greyisch-white spots were found on the liver. Histologically, these spots were necrotic foci with intranuclear inclusion bodies at their periphery. Immunoperoxidase study and virological examination clearly proved the association of the lesions with multiplication of Aujeszky's disease virus. Clinical signs and liver lesions could be reproduced after experimental infection in a neonatal calf via the umbilical cord with the virus strain from one of the naturally infected calves. The present findings were discussed in view of the epidemiology and pathogenesis of Aujeszky's disease in cattle. Histologisch konnte man in diesem Nekroseherdchen intranukleare Inklusionen nachweisen. |
